The latest development of the WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH, Ilsfeld/Germany, in the field of granulation technology bears the name "T-Shark". This martial designation stands for a heavy-duty granulator that is suited for a broad range of applications in granulation of plastics.

T-Shark is equipped with the hydraulically and load-controlled counter-pressure system "Wing-Ram" that continuously presses the material to be disintegrated against the rotor. This results in extremely high throughput at low drive ratings.

With a rotor diameter of 300 mm and rotor widths of 600 mm to 2.500 mm the T-Shark is optionally equipped with a closed or open rotor and with 5x3 or 8x3 rotary cutters each. Drive ratings are between 22 kW and 90 kW. The rotor shaft runs on exterior and offset spherical roller bearings. The hydraulically slewable screen cage permits good access to rotor and grinding room and thus a fast cleaning and maintenance. The funnel is double-walled and optionally liftable by electric power. For an optimal sound insulation, a complete enclosure of the machine is offered. The fast-exchange screen with screen perforations of 3 mm up to 30 mm mounted below the rotor permits the discharge of a uniform granulate with a low dust contents. For a safe material discharge at high throughput the "Double-Twin-Extraction" permits the discharge of ground material at both sides of the machine.
